Join Us In Palo Alto

Our walk on Saturday in San Mateo was a grand success and we are looking forward to our Palo Alto Light The Night, now just 11 days away! We are excited to have so many Palo Alto teams joining us including the San Jose Earthquakes.

Austen Everett and Matt Luzunaris

The San Jose Earthquakes player Matt Luzunaris is leading the charge in honor of his girlfriend Austen Everett, currently fighting Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma for the third time. “Be it family, friends, co-workers or other acquaintances, we all know someone who has been affected by this disease. We have all seen the toll it can take on the individual who is sick, as well as their families. But with every dollar and every donation, we get one step closer to defeating the ugly “C” word.”

The Groove Kings, our stage band for the walk, promises to keep us pumped as they did in San Mateo, and Armadillo Willy’s will provide delicious food. Our Kid’s Area will have two bounce houses, face painting, balloon animals, and will feature games from one of our community partners, Sports Basement!

Be The Match, the National Marrow Registry, will also be joining us in the Patient Services tent at the walk. Joining the registry offers you the unique opportunity to help a patient in need by donating bone marrow or blood stem cells. Take a few minutes to fill in a consent form, and do 4 cheek swabs. This is all that is necessary to enter the registry. Please join others and contribute what you can to make it possible for more people like you to register in the future.

It is not too late to register and join us in walking to celebrate and remember patients and their families. Our Saturday evening walks are easy to join by visiting our website www.lightthenight.org/sj or contacting us at 408-490-2167.

Our upcoming walks:

Palo Alto – Saturday, October 15th, at Palo Alto High School
San Jose – Saturday, October 22nd, at Arena Green, next to the H.P. Pavilion
